General vehicle repairs and servicing

Whilst your vehicle engine is in the process of getting rebuild we can also attend to service items like brakes, suspension and other general repairs. It is a perfect opportunity to rebuild and repair your vehicle from bumper to bumper with minimum downtime and only one account to pay.

MAJOR SERVICE:

• Inspect vehicle for scratches and dents, body damages.
• Check all warning lights on dash
• Check hooter
• check windshield washers front and rear if operational
• check rev counter, speedo and other gauges on dash if operational
• Refill front and rear windscreen washer bottles add cleaning soap
• Check accelerator for full throttle
• Report on condition of disc and brake drums
• Report on condition of disc pads and brake linings
• Inspect brake hydraulic pipes. Wheel cylinders and calipers for leaks and damages
• Check advance on mechanical distributor if applicable
• Replace points and condenser if applicable   
• Report on condition of timing chain and components
• Replace fuel filter
• Replace oil filter
• Replace airfilters
• Check brake and clutch pedals for travel and squeaking
• Check door operation
• Check bonnet operation
• Check boot operation
• Check electric or manual window operation
• Grease all door ,bonnet and boot latches
• Check operation off all locks and latches
• Check pedal rubbers condition
• Check and top-up battery water level
• Check battery terminals condition
• Check battery terminal and clamping tightness
• Check battery load test and charging rate
• Check and refill hydraulic levels
• Check brake fluid level, condition and replace if required
• Inspect coolant system for leaks and levels
• Check antifreeze condition and replace if necessary
• Inspect all suspension components for condition
• Inspect routing of cables and pipes under vehicle.
• Check gearbox levels manual and auto and top-up or replace if required
• Check gear lever and linkages for wear and operation, lube if necessary
• Check diff oil levels and top-up or replace if required
• Inspect exhaust system for leaks, hanger brackets and tightness
• Repack and adjust wheelbearings where applicable
• Lube under body parts with shackle fluid
• Inspect condition of tyres and rotate if required
• Check and report on aircon operation
• Check wiper blade condition and replace if required
• Check all interior lights
• Inspect handbrake operation and adjust if required
• Check all outside lights front and rear
• Check headlight aiming
• Check for debris in front of radiator or intercooler
• Check fanbelt tension and condition, replace if required
• Compression test wet and dry
• Replace spark plugs(where applicable)
• Check spark plug leads for damage (where applicable)
• Inspect cambelt tension and condition
• Inspect cambelt timing
• Adjust ignition timing
• Adjust co`s (where applicable)
• Check diesel fuel injectors and fuel pump and pipes and hoses for leaks.
• Check operation of glowplugs where applicable.Diesel vehicles only.
• Check new oil level and water levels
• Check and adjust tappets if adjustable
• Inspect cv joints and rubber dust cover boots
• Check steering wheel if aligned
• Check spare wheel and tools
• Inspect universal joints and grease if required
• Inspect tie rod ends for wear
• Inspect steering components
• Inspect steering rack for wear
• Grease all nipples fitted
• Inspect shocks for leaks and condition
• Torque all wheel nuts
• Inflate tyres to correct pressures
• Wash and vacuum vehicle
• Diagnostic test with print out and reset service indicators
• Road test check for performance, engine smoke, rattles, wind noise, steering, braking stability and any abnormal noises or conditions with full written report)
• Replace engine oil

INTERMEDIATE :

• Inspect vehicle body for scratches,dents and other damages
• Inspect all warning lights on dash
• Check all lights exterior and interior for operation
• Check hooter
• Check wipers and blade condition
• Check brake and clutch pedal travel,adjustment and squeaks.
• Check for debris in front of radiator and intercooler
• Lubricate all latches,locks and hinges
• Check window washer fluid and top-up
• Check battery level and terminal condition and tightness
• Check hydraulic fluid levels and top-up
• Check cooling system levels and leaks
• Check antifreeze condition and replace if required
• Inspect fanbelts and adjust tension
• Change oil filter
• Change airfilter
• Change fuel filter
• Inspect cambelt condition and tension
• Inspect brakes and handbrake condition
• All grease nipples serviced if fitted
• Sump plug washer replaced and tightened, check for leaks
• Start- up vehicle and check for leaks and abnormal noises
• Check condition of tyres spare included and inflate to correct pressure
• Check aircon operation
• Check gearbox and diff oil levels and top-up if required.
• Diagnostic test with print out and reset service indicators.
• Wash and vacuum
• Road test, check engine performance, engine smoke, overheating and any abnormal noises, vibrations (with full written report)
• Replace engine oil

MINOR:

• Check vehicle body for scratches and dents,other damage
• Check tyre condition and pressures including spare wheel
• Check all lights  exterior.
• Check windscreen washer level
• Replace engine oil
• Change oil filter
• Check brake fluid level
• Check battery level
• Check power steering level.
• Check coolant level
• Check antifreeze condition
• Reset service indicators if required
• Wash and vacuum
• Road test,check performance,abnormal noises or vibrations with full written report.
